Margrete Aleksandersdotter, 1261-1283, daughter of Alexander III of Scotland, married in Bergen in 1281 with the 12-year-old Eric Magnusson which she later had a daughter with. The reason for the marriage was a Norwegian desire to secure dominion over Orkney .
