The dates of Jack's birth, marriage and death are approximate.
Jack graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Pharmacy in 1937. When the 14th Army Tank Regiment was formed, he joined it and was sent with them to Camp Borden in March 1941. After about 2 months training, the regiment embarked for Europe. The regiment’s participation in the Dieppe Raid on 19 August 1942 resulted in 138 of the tank crews, including Jack, taken prisoner. [1] Lieutenant Jack Hunt Dunlop was mentioned in despatches 2 February 1946. [2] Jack returned to his wife and lived in Edmonton, Alberta until the early 1970s, when they lived in Banff. He has two daughters.
