Mary Jane Dunlop was born about 1842 in Glengarry, Upper Canada.[1] In 1861, she was living with her parents in Shefford township, Canada East. [2]
Mary Jane emigrated to the U.S. in 1865 and was naturalized in 1871. [3]
She was married to Jeremiah O'Neil and in 1880 had an adopted daughter age 1 and two boarders. They lived in Valley Falls, New York. [4] They moved to Chicago and lived at 2242 Pauline Street on 8 Jun 1900. [5]
Jeremiah died in Aug 1906. Mary received an Army Widows Pension beginning on Sept 17, 1906. [6]
In 1910 and 1920, Mary Jane lived with her married daughter at 2934 Loomis Street, Chicago. She died there on 9 Mar 1923 and was buried 12 Mar in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Chicago. [7][8]
