John Dunlop migrated from Scotland to the United States in 1832.

John was born in 1808 in Argyll, Scotland. He was the son of John Dunlop and Mary Brackenridge. [1]

He came to the US in 1832 on the same ship as David Breckenridge[2]

He married Charlotte Breckenridge, David's daughter, in Ohio in 1836. [3]

In 1851 they moved to Indiana. They spent a few months in Tippecanoe County, then built a home in Union, White County. He served as a Trustee of Union Township.

John's sister, Martha also married a Breckenridge and moved to Union, Indiana.

John passed away in 1889.
