Arthur Dunn was a chemist, inventor, and fancy soap maker.[4] The 1841 England census lists him, his wife, and two of their children (Jose, age 2; Eliza, age 1) living on Spencer Street in Clerkenwell, London.[5] Later, they settled in a house at 46 Foregate Street in Worcestershire.[6] By 1861, the family was living in a much larger residence in Hackney.[7]
After his wife Louisa's death in 1866, Arthur remarried to Eliza Sampson.[8] The 1871[9] and 1881[10] census records show them living together in Hackney with various children and grandchildren.
His eldest son was reportedly born in Mexico, suggesting that he and his family spent some time there in the late 1830s. However, I have not found any details apart from stories in online family trees. - Freeth-52 02:02, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
