Thomas Dunn was a convict after the Third Fleet.

Thomas Dunn was born in about 1776, based on his age of 20 at the time of his trial.

He was the servant of a brewer, Richard Pearce, in King Street, Westminster, when he was arrested for stealing from his master. On the 24th of September, 1796, he was discovered to have stolen thirteen pieces of brown paper, value 1d. (one penny) fourteen hundred and fifty two halfpence value 3 pounds and sixpence and two hundred and fifteen fathings, value 4 shillings and sixpence. He was sentenced to seven years at the Old Bailey on the 28th of October, 1796,[1] and arrived in Australia on the "Hillsborough" on July 26, 1799.

He married Rose Bean, a free settler, at St. John's Parramatta on the 10th of October, 1804.[2][3]

He was pardoned by Lachlan Macquarie and later became Chief Constable in Smithfield. He became a good citizen of the Colony.

He died at his home in Castlereagh Street, Sydney, on the 6th of April, 1832.[4][5][6] He was buried in the Devonshire Street cemetery, which is now under Central Station, on the 9th of April.[7]
