Mose remembers his dad, his grandfather and all his brothers working the farm together. Mose remembers his dad dying in July 1944. Mose was serving in the Army during WWll when his father died and he couldn't go to the funeral. He remembers Henderson stayed on with the family and remembered his grandfather Henderson had never went to a Doctor in his entire life. It was on a hot day his grandpa and his brothers was working at the pond pulling bramble bushes on the pond bank and all of them got too hot. That night his grandfather Henderson got sick. The next day his grandpa Henderson ask to be taken to the doctor. The doctor examined him and told him he had a long run of being healthy but he was going to die within two weeks.
