DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Richard or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Richard Dunn: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 111 markers, haplogroup R-ZP151, FTDNA kit #38868
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
  • Richard Dunn: Family Tree DNA mtDNA Test Full Sequence, haplogroup H1, FTDNA kit #38868
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Richard:

We've missed you. Your Ancestors have missed you. Are you still interested in participating on WikiTree? Please let me know what your intentions are. We would love to see you active again but understand if you are no longer interested.

Let me explain what will happen if you no longer wish to continue on WikiTree, all of your living profiles will be deleted for privacy reasons, all profiles meeting the 150/200 year rule will be opened up and orphaned so others may adopt them and your personal profile will be deleted. I understand how tough that will be after all the work you have put into building profiles. Is there someone you can transfer your profiles to? If yes, please contact me and I will send you information on how to do that.

Thank you for all of your past contributions and hopefully future contributions.

Appreciate your thank you note.

You and my wife at 6th cousins. Unfortunately that's not close enough to show up on DNA tests, but relatives none-the-less.

Thanks - Jim

P.S. One of my grandmothers was a Dunn. Whereabouts did your family come from? Mine were from Tullamore in what is now Offaly, Ireland.
Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month!

We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I'm happy to help!

Hi RIchard,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.
