Entered army, sent to pacific (James Dunn was in the Guard on the way to Ft. Benning GA for 2 week training on December 7th, 1941. His unit was activated and sent to Pearl Harbor. He served in the Pacific under Colonel William Bray. He was sent to Ft Campbell KY in 1945.
Mr Dunn was sent to Castle Heights Military Academy as a young man, which was near Nashville, TN. One night the school sponsored a ballroom dance and He was set up on a blind date with a local girl ( Peggy Olofsson) A few years later while at war they started writing back & forth thru "V-mail" and near wars end Mr Dunn and Mrs Olofsson married.
