Biography

Fern M. Dunning Bright, daughter of Charles and Hattie Dunning was born near Webster, Kansas, June 13, 1899 and departed this life at the Plainville Rural Hospital December 13, 1958, at the age of 59 years and 6 months. On January 29, 1921, shr was united in marriage to Thorton Minson Bright who preceded her in death May 17, 1956. Mr. And Mrs. Bright were the parents of two children, Betty Lou and Otto Lee. Mrs. Bright was the twelfth in a family of fourteen children. She grew to womanhood in the Webster Community and most of her life was spent in or near Webster and Plainville. In 1941 the family moved to Columbia City, Oregon, where Mr. Bright passed away. In 1957 she returned to Plainville spending most of the time with her sister, Mrs. Myrtle Hutton, who had much of the responsibility of caring for her during her illness and after her removal to the hospital was constantly at her bedside until death.
