David was born in 1830, the son of Alexander Dunning Elizabeth Dunning , Three brothers went to US William, Samuel and Henry -David may have followed - then came to Australia??? , as did Samuel quite a few years later.
David married Bridget at West Maitland, New South Wales, Australia on 13th January 1856. David passed away27 Jun 1908 at his home called Bona Vista, Paterson, New South Wales, Australia.
All of David and Bridget's children are registered in the BDM - as DONNING, which was his surname in Ireland. Somehow it was changed to Dunning, perhaps the pronunciation of the name. The name Dunning is what is generally used today, the photo of David was copied during the 1980s from
the Dunning family, at one time was hanging on the wall in the old house at Paterson.
Hi Rita This is the information re: the Dunnings - as you can see in Ireland it is spelt 'Donning' - and one of Davids children - went back to the name 'Donning', and some baptisms of his children is recording as Donning.
William went to the US, Samuel went to the US then Australia. It was known for years - that David's mother was Margaret - when in fact it was Elizabeth.
