Jacques Dupre was from Paris according to his children's baptism and marriage records and his own burial record.[1][2] It is estimated he was born about 1700. A record for his marriage to Anne Marie Philippe is not found in record books for Archdiocese of New Orleans[3] Diocese of Baton Rouge[4], or Natchitoches.[5][6] Nor does he appear in the 1722 or 1726 censuses of Natchitoches although there is a Sr. Dupuy, Ensign in the 1722 census.[7]
He accidentally drowned on June 25, 1736 and was found and buried the following day.[2][1]
