Biography

Joseph was born around 1745. He was the son of Michel Dupuis and Marie Josèphe Savoie.[1] He married Marie Boudrot on 12 January 1770 in Windsor (Hants) Colony of Nova Scotia. [2]

He passed away on 15 March 1827 at about 82 years of age and was buried the next day in Memramcook. [3]

Research Notes

The marriage took place in Windsor, Hants, Nova Scotia and was entered in the register held by l’abbé Bailly which is called « Registre de l'abbé Charles-François Bailly de 1768 à 1772 (Caraquet) » because it was deposited in Caraquet after it was completed. However, there is no reference to Caraquet in the register. For information concerning this register and l’abbé Bailly’s work, see the introduction in this publication.[2] Translation. There is another register that is more ancient than this one that he wrote in Ekoupahag in 1767 and 1768. For a long time it was kept in Kingsclear (N.B.) and is usually named "Le registre de l'abbé Bailly à Kingsclear".

Dupuis-1110 and Dupuis-572 do not represent the same person because: Location of birth and children (as presently recorded) are not the same. Fairly common names for both Joseph and his spouse, Marie.
