After their marriage, they lived in Albuquerque[3] but by 1752 they had moved to Atrisco where their 2nd daughter was born.[4] Ana Gregoria died before 1768 when Ignacio began the diligencia matrimonial process to marry Ursula Bernardina Sanchez.[5] They needed two dispensations in order to marry: 2nd with 3rd degree consanguinity (1st cousins), and 3rd degree affinity (Ignacio was a first cousin of Ursula's first husband, Cristóbal Baca). They finally married after they received the dispensations in 1770.[1] During this process, Ignacio's youngest son with Ana Gregoria was kidnapped by Comanches.[6]
Ignacio and Ursula Bernardina had four known children:
On FamilySearch, two different men were merged, Ignacio Durán y Chávez and Antonio Durán y Chávez, and their names were combined. They are obviously different men due to conflict between their marriages and children's births. It's been corrected on FamilySearch but occasionally you still see the name Ignacio Antonio Durán y Chávez.
The baptism record showing a birth date of 11 Jan 1788 in Albuquerque belongs to María Barbara Duran y Chaves, daughter of Ignacio Duran y Chaves and Ursula Chaves [Sanchez], possibly Ignacio's daughter with his second wife.[8] The burial date for María Barbara was 20 Apr 1831, and she died in Atrisco, probably on the 19th.[9] I am deleting both dates.
