My name is Betty Lou Durazo. I was born in Beverly Hospital in Montebello, CA. I was raised in a Christian two parent family with 3 brothers (2 older and 1 younger). I also had a great relationship with my Maternal grandparents: Rev. Carlos H. Carreon and Celia C. Carreon. I was proud to be brought with a Godly heritage. I also had the great opportunity to have a relationship with my Paternal grandmother (Nana) Marina Olmos Estrada. I met my Paternal grandfather or Tata (Eduardo Durazo) once when I was 4 or 5 years old. I remember him being a kind and sweet man. He visited with my dad's younger half brother, Arturo. I wish I would have had the chance to know them better. I guess that's why I'm doing research in Geneology. I want to know more about this side of the family. I know very little and my doesn't know much about this side of the family either. I would explain more about why it's like this but, it's too complicated and a family issue while my paternal grandparents were alive.
Another reason I am doing this research is that as I have learned more about the branches of my family, I've gotten hook on learning more about them. I've even met relatives that I have never known before and swap info. and pictures. I been an exciting experience so far and I look forward to learning and experiencing so much more! I'm grateful for sites like Wikitree!
Keep "Anywherers" Going:
I like the idea of having a stress free environment to help make WikiTree better. So I started a free-space page:
https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Space:Anywherers&junk=1&action=edit
i wanted your opinion before posting in G2G.
If you are interested ask to be put on the trusted list for the Anywherers page!

Abby Glann posted a G2G discussion about keeping Source-a-Thon and Clean-a-Thon teams active year round. Check it out and let me know if you are interested. If the team is interested then I will start a free-space page for us. Pat
Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Your next step is to reread and sign the Honor Code. Here's how to use WikiTree.
If you feel lost, ask a question in our G2G forum. Most WikiTree members are happy to help a fellow genealogist.
Here's the G2G Question of the Week: What are your biggest genealogical organizational problems?
If you want EVEN MORE to do, check out these volunteer options.

Welcome to the WikiTree family!
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, which means that all members work together as a single collaborative team. The Honor Code helps keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on one BIG tree.
The initial email from us has links you can use to get started. When you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree, beginning with tags for your own profile. Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. that you'd like to track.
If you decide to volunteer, a greeter will confirm your membership, and you'll be able to add new profiles to the tree.

P.S. I'm always happy to answer questions.
