Biography

OBITUARY: Betty Knippa Wimberley passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Dallas, Texas.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 5:00PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Midland with Pastor Danny Anderson officiating.

Betty was born on December 16, 1932 in Kingsville, Texas to Charles and Bessie Durbin. Betty grew up in Vattman, Texas where she met and married Edwin (Eddie) Herman Knippa in 1948. They were married for 37 years and raised two children together, Connie and Scott. Betty moved to Midland in 1998 where she met Loyd Wimberley and they married in 2001. Betty was a faithful member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was a God fearing woman that had a heart to serve others. Betty loved people and would do anything for anyone. She was one that never complained and no matter the situation she would find the good in it. She was a very hard worker and enjoyed getting to make home a place where everyone wanted to be. She was a loving mother, wife, and granny. Betty always enjoyed painting, but most of all enjoyed getting to be with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Loyd Wimberley of Midland, TX; daughter, Connie and husband Carl Cook of Hayward, WI; son, Scott and wife Lorie Knippa of Midland, TX; and two grandchildren, Clete and Callie Knippa of Midland.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin (Eddie) Herman Knippa; grandson, James Travis Beyer; and sister, Charlene Haygard. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center, St. Louis, MO 63141.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
