Biography

Charles Tobias Durbin was born May 29, 1859 in Gasconade County, Missouri to Christopher 'Kit' L. Durbin and Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Shockley Durbin.

A publication of the Sacred Heart Parish/Reed Catholic Cemetery book, compiled by Marsha Buck Shockley with the help of family and friends, funeral home records, local newspapers and the internet; printed in 2017 had the following obituary:

Charles T. Durbin, 84, formerly of Conway, Missouri, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grace Daniels, of Marshfield, Missouri on Sunday, January 30, 1944. Funeral services were conducted in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conway, Tuesday morning by the pastor, Rev. P. J. Donohue, of Marshfield.

Burial was in Reed Cemetery near Conway.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. O. L. Daniels, of Marshfield and Mrs. George Calton, of Richland; two sons, George Calton, of Marshfield and Earl Durbin, of Conway; fourteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Durbin passed away in 1941. Charles T. Durbin was born in Gasconade County, Missouri on May 29, 1859
