Biography

James Z Durbin was born on May 14, 1864, in Springfield, Louisiana, his father, James, was 44 and his mother, Susan, was 43. He married Sarah Schenk on August 8, 1885, in Tangipahoa, Louisiana. They had seven children in 13 years. He died on April 22, 1901, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the age of 36, and was buried in Tangipahoa, Louisiana. James was shot by his kinsman Lee Parker in a street fight in Independence, Louisiana. James was transported to the hospital in New Orleans where he succumbed to his injuries. Lee Parker was acquitted of all charges.
