Biography

According to the 1851census for England, James was born about 1811 in Ireland. James, then aged 40, was a widower lodging at the home of James and Anne McNally in Pooles Yard, Ashover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. His occupation was Agricultural labourer. James' 21 year old son Neale Durkan, was sharing his lodgings and was employed as an Ironstone miner. [1]
