Biography

Neeltje, who used the name Nellie, was born, according to Dobson was born about 1757 and died 27 or 28 October 1829 at or near Richmond Hill, Markham Township, York County, Ontario.^[1] She was the daughter of Barent and Ann Dutcher and baptized in the Poughkeepsie Dutch Church.^[1] On 25 August 1774, she married Peter H. Vanderburgh (1755-1839) also near Richmond Hill.^[1]
