As a child, he immigrated to Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1634/5.
In his younger years, he was a coronet of a troop and afterward a captain of foot. He went out 10 times against the Indians. He killed or took prisoner nine Indians. [3]
He was a town clerk for 10 years, a selectman for 25 years (1664-89), the Town Recorder, an "Agent" [3] and a representative of the town in General Court in 1691/2, possibly longer. [3]
He died at age 87 years on 31 January 1717/18[4][2][5][6] and was buried at Old Village Cemetery in Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts [7] with inscription ...
Anna (Flint) Dwight on 9 January 1664/5[11], parents unknown. (Contrary to the "History of the Descendants of John Dwight of Dedham, Massachusetts", this is not the daughter of Henry Flint and Margaret Hoar, or the widow of John Dasset.[12]
Esther (Hunting) Fisher on 31 July 1690, [13][9][10] widow of Nathaniel Fisher. Contrary to the "History of the Descendants of John Dwight of Dedham, Massachusetts", this is not Esther Fisher, daughter of Hon. Daniel Fisher [12]

Currently Timothy Dwight's third wife (Anna Flint), is the "widow" of John Dassett. Asthe marriage record shows "Anna Flint" and not "Anna Dassett", I don't think these can be the same Anna's. In addition, in the sketch for Anna (Flint) Dassett's father Henry, only a marriage to John Dassett is mentioned. I haven't researched to see if there is another possible Anna Flint, but I think we need to disconnect them and add a replacement profile.
Sibley's Harvard Grads Vol. 3:389, gives a quick blurb about Dassett, married a Flynt and buried 23 Jul 1693, so too late for his widow to marry Dwight. There are other sources given on that Sibley's entry that might help with Dassett's wife anyway. [EDIT:] I just realized this is a Joseph, not a John Dassett, and an earlier generation. But they're all intermarried.
There are definitely secondary sources that either identify her as Anna Flynt d/o Henry from brain tree or give two marriages for Anna (and then adjust Dasset's death date to accommodate). But unless there is a deed or something else that indicates that Dwight's wife was the daughter of Henry Flint, I think we should follow Anderson's conclusions that these are two different women. (I looked through the deed index and could find anything that looked useful for either Dasset or Flint).
