Notes
Note NI703Abigail Dye was born on February 17, 1785 in Middlesex Co., NJ. Her name and birth date are listed in William & Phebe (Mounteer) Dye's family Bible that now belongs to David Dye of Millersburg, Kentucky. Her parents emigrated from New Jersey to Kentucky sometime between 1788 to 1793 (when she was age 3 to 8). Abigail married her first cousin Peter Dye on April 20, 1805 in Mason Co., KY. At the time of their marriage, Abigail had an illegitimate daughter from a previous relationship named Eliza. Peter & Abigail had at least 4 sons, and early census records indicate they may have had one more son and also another daughter whose names I have not discovered at this time. Abigail is listed as an heir in her father's will that was dated August 13, 1806. The family is listed on the 1810 & 1820 censuses of Fleming Co., KY, which is next to Mason Co., KY. Peter died in 1822 & Abigail Dye died in 1825, both in Fleming or Mason Co., KY. At the time of Abigail's death, the children ranged in age from 3 to 18.
