Buried in Pocasset cemetery. He received his education chiefly in Dr. Fiske's Academy at South Scituate, Rhode Island, where he was a student for several years. He was reared to agricultural pursuits, and was the owner of the one hundred and twenty acres, known as the Dyer farm, Cranston, which he cultivated and improved.
His long life of over eighty years was passed in the towns of Cranston and Johnston, residing alternately in the two towns, in the latter for about five years. For a number of years he represented Johnston in the state senate.
