Note N225Biography written about 1992 - Hazel was born near Luray, Missouri where she lived with her parents on a rented farm owned by her grandparents Dyer. She moved with her parents to near Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri about 1919. She was about 14 years of age at that time. She never had a high school education but did help to see her younger sister Rovene did have. She went to work in Ft Madison in 1927 and 1928 left for Montana. About 1920 she met Audrey W Gardine and went with him for 8 years before they were married in 1928. He had a chance to work in the coal mines in Montana for good money so he went there. Hazel followed him shortly and they were married in Fairview, Montana in December 1928. In October 1929, at age 27, he was killed in a coal mine accident. That left her pregnant with her only son Audrey Jr who was born Jan 1930 in Kirksville, Missouri.. She had left Montana and came back to Kirksville. She worked several different jobs to support them. They lived with her parents for a while. She married a second time which ended in divorce after 13 years. They lived in Kirksville most of that time, some time in Kahoka, Missouri. After her divorce she went to Quincy, Illinois where she worked at different jobs and then met her 3rd husband Elmer who was living in Sutter, Illinois and was running his parents farm. They married in 1954 and she moved to Sutter and helped Elmer on the farm. He retired in 1958 and they moved to Quincy to Vermont Street where she has lived ever since. Elmer was crippled but managed to get around good until later years then it got hard for him to get around but managed with a cane for many years. He had never been married before and had lived with his parents until their deaths. He died in 1975 at the age of 82. Hazel met her 4th husband George and they were married on Valentines day 14 February 1981 in Quincy, Illinois. He had been married before and had 5 children. He died 1992 in Quincy, Illinois. She has had several broken bones but seems to get around pretty good yet (1992) Hazel was tall like her mother, 5 ft 8 and weight about 165 pounds and had dark hair and eyes. She looks a lot like her mother did in later years. She has lost a lot of weight the last few years and gets around with the help of a cane now. (http://gwwgen.com/boley/zzzg15.htm)
Hazel also married Elmer Antone Herman Wiebrock on 20 Oct 1954. Elmer was born on 20 Oct 1892 in Sutter, Hancock County, Illinois. He died on 29 Aug 1975 in Quincy, Illinois.
Hazel also married George Wayne Upton on 14 Feb 1981 in Quincy, Adams County, Illinois.
