Per Earle Dyke (his son), Leslie had lived in Cedarville c. 1906 before moving the family to Red Bluff c.1918. They used a four horse wagon to make the trip and it took 8 days. They slept on the side of the road and in barns along the way. The trip was made during the summer.
Leslie was a “prosperous stockman of Cedarville”
From Bill Hyler’s “History Notes”, dated Feb 9, 1989: The interesting part is that two brothers, Leslie and Clyde Dyke, married two sisters, Olive and Mamie Sisson. AND notice that two sisters Bessie and Dora Dyke married two brothers; John and Ben Benner. Marie Dyke, Jim’s widow, is the only memeber of her generation living, that I, Bill Hyler, know of at this time.
