A marriage is to be solemnized between John Dyke, son of WD, and Judith Levinz, daughter of HL

There were three children of the marriage who all died young; Humphrey in 1685, Elizabeth in 1700, and Dorothy Dyke in 1705

29 May 1708: he wrote his will as John Dyke Esq of Frant mentioning: to my faithful servant Thomas May for his long & faithful service £100; unto my trusty servant Martha Cheesman & also for her tender & most affectionate care of my dear wife, deceased, during her sickly & languishing condition for several years & in performance of a promise to my dear wife to bequeath unto said Martha £350 after my death; to my godson Richard Capper (s/o Richard Capper my executor) £400; unto Mr John Hyde of {?}Syse Lane £400; all the rest & residue of my personal estate I bequeath unto my sister Dorothy Hutton, wife of John Hutton Esq of Marsk in Yorkshire & to my dear niece Elizabeth Fowle to be equally divided between them; I give unto my dear sister Dorothy Hutton all that my house messuage or tenement wherein I now dwell & all the lands therewith & also all other lands whereof I now stand seized; I appoint Mt Richard Capper of Castle Yard, London & Mr Thomas Short of Wadherst, Sussex, gent, my executors.
