Joyce was born about 1630.
Joyce married Thomas Curwen in 1658 (I cannot recall where I found this information - and the Thomas Curwen she married was not an important person in his own right)..
Joyce is important to my family as her brother - Leonard Dykes (b.1633) - had 2 sons, Frescheville (heir) and Wilfred // Wilfred is my link to the Dykes family line // As Wilfred was not the heir, he had to make his own way in the world, so he married into the Allgood family (located near Darlington) // After marrying Catherine Allgood, he moved to the village of Seaton which lies next to Camerton Hall which was the family home of the Curwen family // this is where Joyce Curwen (nee-Dykes) lived with her husband (Thomas) and it is likely that she either a) lived long enough to ensure Wilfred and his new wife had a home on the estate // Or, b) maybe Wilfred was a regular visitor to Camerton Hall when growing up at Warthall Hall and knew members of the Curwen family.

Wilfred Dykes (Dykes-785) married Catherine Allgood in 1697 and lived in the village of Seaton (near Workington, Cumbria). Very close to Seaton is Camerton Hall, the family "seat" of the Curwen family. I believe that Joyce found an estate cottage for Wilfred and his wife to live in. Very close to Camerton Hall is St Peter's Church Camerton where many of the Curwen and Dykes family are buried.
