Biography

Mary Eleanor was the daughter of Humphrey Dyment and Nancy McDougall.[1] In 1881, she was living with her parents in Northam, Lot 13, Prince Edward Island.[2] She married John A. Barlow in 1885. [3][4]

Nellie and John had two sons, William Spurgeon and Henry James.

After her death[5][6], her husband remarried. Her sons lived with her sister Elizabeth in Springfield, Massachusetts when they first left the Island.

  1. Not in the PEI Baptismal Index, but she was buried in Bideford Cemetery with her parents, Humphrey and Nancy. The death notice in the Daily Examiner said she was the daughter of Humphrey Dyment.
