Biography

Catharine Dysart, daughter of Archibald and Margaret Longwell Dysart, was born January 31, 1773 in Chester Co., Pennsylvania.[1]

Catharine joined The Head of the Christiana Presbyterian Church in 1817.[2]

The 1840 U.S. Federal Census records Catherine Dysart as a head of household in Cecil Co., Maryland. In her household are: 1 male age 50-60, 1 male age 60-70, 1 female age 10-15, 1 female 50-60, and 1 female 60-70.[3]

The 1850 U.S. Federal Census records Catherine Dysart as head of household #135 living in District 4, Cecil Co., Maryland. Catherine is 73 years of age and was born in Pennsylvania. In her household are William Dysart a farmer age 80 born in PA, Elizabeth age 70 born in PA, James Patton a farm hand age 18 born in MD, William Davis age 11 born in NJ, Margaret Alden age 21 born in MD, "Archabald Alden" [sic] a carpenter age 24 born in MD, and Joseph Alden an auger maker age 22 born in MD. The next family #136 is Catherine, William, and Elizabeth's brother Levi and his family.[4]

According to her gravestone, she died January 19, 1856, not quite 83 years of age.[5][6]
