Biography

On December 6, 1849 Francis Dysart and Sarah Ann Davis were married in Greene Co., Missouri by C.C. Williamson.[1]

The 1850 U.S. Federal Census records Francis H. Dysart, age 23 born in TN, as a farmer living in Robinson Township, Greene Co., Missouri. In his household is Sarah A. Dysart age 19 born in TN. It is recorded that they were married within the year.[2]

The 1860 U.S. Federal Census records “F.H. Disert” age 32 born in TN, as a farmer living in Campbell Township, Greene Co., Missouri. In his household are Sarah age 28 born in TN, William age 5 born in MO, and Mary age 2 born in MO.[3]

“Francis H. Dizart,” age 36 born in Tennessee, now a farmer residing in Robberson Township, Missouri, is found in the U.S. Civil War Draft Registration Records for the 4th Congressional District of Missouri dated November 30, 1863.[4]

The 1870 U.S. Federal Census records Francis Dysart, age 48 born in TN, as a farmer living in Campbell Township, Greene Co., Missouri. In his household are Sarah age 38 born in TN, William age 15 born in MO, and Mary age 12 born in MO.[5]

The 1880 U.S. Federal Census records F.H. Dysart, age 53 born in TN (father born in GA and mother born in KY), as a farmer living in Campbell Township, Greene Co., Missouri. In his household are his wife Sarah age 47 born in TN (both parents born in TN), and son William A. age 15 born in MO [n.b. his middle initial letter is scribbled over and is not a clear “A” based on other clear initials on the page]. This census is recorded to have been enumerated on June 2, 1880 and It is recorded that F.H. is sick from a “Disease of Breast.” [6]

Francis H. Dysart died October 23, 1880 and was buried in Mount Comfort Cemetery, Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri.[7]
