Biography

Lola May Dysart, daughter of Samuel and Rosa Margaret "Maggie" (Smith) Dysart, was born June 16, 1868 in Missouri.[1]

The 1870 U.S. Federal Census records Samuel Dysart, age 33 born in KY, living in Jackson Township, Andrew Co., Missouri. In his household are his wife Margaret, age 25 born in MO, daughter Lola age 2 born in MO and John Dysart, age 30 born in KY, who is probably his brother.[2]

The 1880 U.S. Federal Census records Samuel Dysart, age 40 born in KY, working as a stock dealer and living in Clay Township, Andrew Co., Missouri. Samuel is a widower and in his household are daughter Lola age 11, son Logan age 6 and daughter Fannie age 4. Also in the household is his sister-in-law Alice Smith and a farm laborer servant Henry ?.[3]

Lola May Dysart of Andrew Co., Missouri and David M. Carson of Acturie Co, Idaho were married June 24, 1891 in Andrew Co., Missouri.[4]

The 1900 U.S. Federal Census records David M. Carson, age 37 born August 1862 in Missouri, living in Polk, DeKalb Co., Missouri and working as a retail lumber dealer. In his household are his wife Lola M. age 31 born June 1868 in Missouri and his sister-in-law Fannie C. Desart (sic) age 24 born April 1876 in Missouri. David and Lola have been married 9 years and she has had no children.[5]

Lola May Dysart Carson died June 14, 1901 at her home in Union Star, Missouri. She was buried in the Dysart Cemetery, Andrew County, Missouri.[6]

An Obituary for Mrs. Lola Carson printed in The King City Chronicle on June 21, 1901 reads: “Mrs. Lola Carson, wife of Mr. David Carson, died at her home in Union Star, at 9:00 o’clock p.m., Friday, June 14, 1901. The funeral services were held at the Christian church in the Star at 2:00 p.m., June 15, and the remains taken to the Dysart cemetery, near Parker, for interment. The deceased had been in poor health for some years and a great sufferer the past few weeks. The family formerly lived in King City and several from this place attended the funeral to attest their high esteem of a noble, good woman. The deceased was married to David Carson, June 24, 1891, was 33 years old at time of death and leaves a husband and many friends to mourn the loss and absence of a beloved Christian woman. The many friends here extend sympathy to the bereaved and share in the sorrow of them who miss a loved one.” [7]
