The 1860 U.S. Federal Census records “James Dizart” age 37 born in PA as a farmer living in Lima Township, Licking Co., Ohio. In his household are Levina age 35 born in OH, Charles age 11 born in OH, Rufus age 8 born in OH, William age 7 born in OH, Mary age 4 born in OH, Gustavis age 2 born in OH, and Alfred Cam age 17 born in OH and also working as a farmer.[1]

The 1870 U.S. Federal Census records “James Disert” age 55 born in Pennsylvania as a farmer living in Truro Township, Franklin Co., Ohio. In his household are Melvina age 50 born in OH, Charles age 20 born in OH, Rufus age 18 born in OH, William age 16 born in OH, Gustavus age 12 born in OH and John age 8 born in OH.[2]

William E. Dysart and Menta Fitch were married on December 5, 1881 in Pickaway County, Ohio by a Justice of the Peace.[3]

The 1900 U.S. Federal Census records William Dysart, age 45 born July 1854 in OH (father born PA, mother born OH), as a farmer living in Jefferson Township, Franklin Co., Ohio. In his household are his wife Samantha age 40 born May 1860 in Indiana (father born KY, mother born OH), daughter Gertrude age 14 born June 1885 in OH, son Alva age 12 born Dec 1887 in OH, daughter Maud age 10 born Nov 1889 in OH, and son Dale age 7 born Jan 1893 in OH. William and Samantha have been married for 20 years and have had 6 children all of whom are still living.[4]

The 1910 U.S. Federal Census records William E. Dysart, age 55 born in OH as a farmer living in Jefferson Township, Franklin Co., Ohio. In his household are his wife Samantha age 49, daughter Maud age 20 and son Dale age 17. William and Samantha have been married for 29 years and have had 6 children with 5 still living.[5]

The 1920 U.S. Federal Census records William E. Dysart, age 66 born in Ohio (father born PA, mother born OH), as a brick yard laborer living in Jefferson, Franklin Co., Ohio. In his household is his wife Samantha age 59 born in Indiana (father born KY, mother born OH).[6]

William E. Dysart died February 23, 1923 in Franklin County, Ohio.[7] He was buried in Silent Home Cemetery, Reynoldsburg, Franklin County, Ohio.[8]

An Obituary for William E. Dysart printed in the Columbus Evening Dispatch on February 24, 1923 reads: “WILLIAM E. DYSART – William E. Dysart, aged 68, died Friday from complications at his home eight miles east of Columbus. He is survived by his widow, two sons, two daughters, a sister and a brother. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Reynoldsburg M.E. church with burial in the Silent Home cemetery in charge of W.I. Winegarner.” [9]
