The 1880 U.S. Federal Census records John Dysart, age 65 born in PA (father born PA, mother born Ireland), as a farmer living in Truro, Franklin Co., Ohio. In his household are his wife Mary age 58 born in Ireland, son Samuel age 32 born in Ohio, daughter Mary age 18 born in Ohio, son Scott age 21 born in Ohio, and son Elmer age 14 born in Ohio.[2]
Upon the death of his mother Mary Ann Carns Dysart in 1883, the following is found in the Probate Court of Franklin Co., Ohio which records her living children: “To the Probate Court of Franklin County Ohio: . . . says that Mary Ann Dysart late a resident of the Township of Truro in said County, died intestate, on or about the 22 day of Sept A.D. 1883, leaving John Dysart her husband surviving whose P.O. address is Reynoldsburg Fr. Co. O and the following persons his only heirs at law: William Dysart son Truro, Franklin Co., O.; Samuel A. Dysart son Reynoldsburg, Franklin Co., O.; Albert Dysart son Reynoldsburg, Franklin Co., O.; Frank Dysart son Philo, Champaign Co., Ill.; Scott Dysart son Pataskala, Licking Co. O.; Anna Mary Dysart daughter Reynoldsburg, Fr. Co. O.; Elmer E. Dysart son Reynoldsburg, Fr. Co. O. That none of the above named are children of said decedent under 15 years of age at the time of her decease. The undersigned asks for the appointment of an administrator of the estate of said decedent, and on his oath aforesaid says, the amount of personal property will be about $1000 and of real estate about $4500. William Dysart sworn to and subscribed before me, this 3 day of Nov. A.D. 1883.” [3]
Elmer E. Dysart and Emily Borror were married on June 7, 1893 in Franklin Co., Ohio.[4]
The 1900 U.S. Federal Census records Elmer Dysart, age 34 born Dec 1865 in Ohio (father born OH, mother born Ireland), as a school teacher living in Jackson Township, Franklin Co., Ohio. In his household are his wife Emily age 31 born Aug 1864 in Ohio, daughter Elsie age 5 born June 1894 in Ohio, and son Elbert age 4 born Nov 1895 in Ohio. Elmer and Emily have been married for 7 years and she has had 2 children both are still living.[5]
The University of Michigan Catalogue of Officers and Students, 1837-1911 published in 1912 records that Elmer Ellsworth Dysart, student ’90-’92, d. Georgeville, O., Jan. 24, 1906 (age 40).[6] Elmer E. Dysart was buried in Concord Cemetery, Grove City, Franklin County, Ohio.[7]
