James Eagar was born in Ireland.
James member of the Church of Ireland
James was born about 1694 and he was the son of John Eagar and Dorothea Tallis.[1]
He married Margaret, daughter of Thomas Day[2]. Burke only lists one child for them called Tallis but the Dingle parish registers also show:
- Catherine born 1725[3]
- Thomas born 1727[4]
- Tryphena born 1733[5]
- Elizabeth(?) born 1736[6]
- Lucy born 1738[7]
Research Notes
James "Egan" and his wife Margaret were recorded as parents of Tallis Egan, baptised on 1 April 1729 in Ballinvoher, Kerry (COI).[8][9] The newly-created "Egan" profiles, based on the church records mentioned above, have been / will be merged into the corresponding "Eagar" profiles based on https://archive.org/details/selectionofarmsa00burk/page/214 , as suggested by John Falvey in this G2G discussion
