Biography
James was the eldest son of Alexander Eagar and his cousin Rose Eagar[1].
He married Alice, daughter of Robert Blennerhassett of Aunagarry in 1758[2]. They had[1]:
- Rowland who married Charlotte Blennerhassett in 1792[3]
- Frances who married Richard Eagar in 1781 and was dead by 1807[4]
- Belinda who married Francis Eagar in 1807[5]
- Barbara who married Joseph Webb in 1804[6]
- Agnes who married William Mason
- Mary who married Reverend Thomas Nash
- Harriet who married John Bride in 1803[7].
Rowland is referred to as the only son and heir of James in a deed of 1791[8].
He died in 1806 leaving bequests to:[9]
- daughter Harriet Bride, a widow, who was his Executor
- daughter Belinda Eagar
- daughter Agnes Mason
- granddaughters Alicia and Agnes Mason
- granddaughters Alicia and Mildred Nash
- granddaughter Alicia Eagar.
