Biography

Edward Eager is an Anzac who served in World War One.

Edward George Eager was born about January of 1897, in Annandale, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Henry Reginald Eager and Elizabeth Steele.[1][2]

Sunbusrt Hat Insignia Edward George Eager enlisted on the 22nd November 1915, aged all of 18 years 11 months. His father's signature appears on the documentation, granting permission. His occupation prior to enlistment was wire worker.[3]

Wounded In Action Edward Eager was Wounded In Action on the 7th June 1917, in France, being hospitalised with GSW (gunshot wound) to the head. His parents were notified on the 3rd July 1917. Edward rejoined the Battalion from hospital on the 19th June.

Edward Eager was Twice Wounded in Action during World War I.

Sunbusrt Hat Insignia On the 23rd June 1917 Edward was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field.

Wounded In Action Edward Eager was Wounded In Action for the second time, on the 12th October 1917, in Belgium, being hospitalised with GSW (multiple) to the (looks to be) right thigh and buttock. His parents were notified on the 13th November. He rejoined his unit from wounded on the 27th November.


Sunbusrt Hat Insignia Edward George Eager was awarded the Military Medal, the Victory Medal, and the British War Medal.
