Ann/Annie Eakins was born about 1855, probably in Bailieborough, County Cavan, Ireland.

Annie/Anna (aged 9) arrived in Port Adelaide on 16th June 1866, on the ship "Charlotte Gladstone" from Plymouth, with her mother Sarah (47, Servant), sister Elizabeth (16, Servant) and brothers, Alexander (21, Labourer) and James (19, Labourer) all from Cavan, Ireland. [1]

Annie Eakins (Single, age 20, daughter of David Eakins) married Samuel Miller (Single, age 23, son of William Miller) on 28 Dec 1876, at the Residence of Mrs Eakins, Magill, Adelaide, South Australia. [2] [3]

Their marriage was reported in the local newspaper South Australian Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1858 - 1889) Wed 10 Jan 1877 Page 4 Family Notices [4]

MILLER-EAKINS— On the 28th December, by the Rev. W. P. Wells, at the residence of the bride's mother, Magill, Samuel Miller, of Paradise, third son of Mr. William Miller, of Norwood, to Annie, youngest daughter of the late Mr. David Eakins, of Bailieborough, Ireland.

Annie and Samuel had 5 children:

  2. Ada Mabel Miller (1879-1884)
  3. Ethel Maud Miller (1881-1884)
  4. Florence Gertrude Miller (1883-1954)
  5. Samuel Harold Miller (1886-1914)

Annie Miller (wife of Samuel Miller, of East Adelaide) died on 5 Dec 1886, aged just 30 years, at at Payneham road, East Adelaide, leaving a young family, including a baby, just 6 months old. [5]

MILLER.-On the 5th December, at Payneham road, East Adelaide, Annie, the beloved wife of Samuel Miller, in her 31st year.
