Biography
Amanda was born in November of 1924. Her maiden name has been spelled "Aiken", "Aikin", and"Eakens". Her mother Lettice, Letticia, Lethelia Aiken is found head of household with a daughter in 1840. Mother Aiken and James Aiken (b.1835) lived with Amanda and her husband, Larkin, in 1850 and Mother Aiken lived with her daughter in the 1860 census'.
In 1900, Amanda was widowed and living with her daughter Luellen and her granddaughter Daisy Crain (b. 1880). Also by 1900, she was the mother of 16 children yet only 5 were still living.
