Biography

Margaret (Eames) Adams aka Dean was born on July 8, 1666 in Sudbury, Massachusetts Bay. She was the daughter of Thomas Eames and Mary (Blandford) Eames. At age 10 while her father was away the family homestead was attacked by Native Americans. Her mother and several siblings and half-siblings were killed. She and several siblings were captured and later ransomed from Canada. [1] She married Joseph Adams on February 21, 1687/88 in Cambridge, Massachusetts Bay. After he passed away, she married Lieut. Daniel Deane on December 27, 1705 in Cambridge, Massachusetts Bay. She died in May 1734 in Concord, Massachusetts Bay.

Joseph and Margaret Adams had, in Cambridge:[2][3]

  • Joseph Adams, b. about 1689, died in Cambridge 1774
  • Daniel/David Adams, bp. 3 Jan 1690-91, resided in the part of Concord that became Lincoln.
  • Cherry Adams, born 1694, bp. 31 Jan 1696-7
  • John Adams, b. 18 Apr 1697

Joseph and Margaret did NOT have a daughter Margaret. One of those previously connected to this profile, citing no sources other than a family tree, was purportedly born three years after Joseph died. The other was the daughter of a different couple, to which she is now attached.. Please do not reattach them.
