Everett (Graham) was born at East Brunswick, Victoria in 1894, the son of Joseph Earl and Margaret Laughlin. [1]
He worked as a station hand and as a labourer in a condensed milk factory in Bacchus Marsh before applying to work as a War Worker in Britain on 26 Jun 1917. He had previously been rejected for Service with the AIF due to defective vision. He was accepted and issued War Warkers' Badge No. 943. He left Sydney on the "Medic" on 01 Aug 1917 arriving in Liverpool on 12 Oct 1918. He commenced working as a labourer on 24 Oct 1917 and worked at several places around London over the following 10 months.
On 09 Jul 1918 he applied to join the AIF again and was accepted. On 16 Jul 1918 he handed in his War Workers badge and finalised his agreement. He was told to report to the AIF in London on the 1st of August 1918, aged almost 24. He was 6 ft tall, with dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He was allotted to the 10th General Service Reinforcements (Regimental No. 50239) and posted to the 7th Battalion Details. He did not get to France before the War ended. He embarked for Australia aboard the "City of York" in January 1919, returning home in late February and discharged from the AIF in March.
In 1920, Everett Belmont Graham Earl married Elsie Louisa Yates.[2]
Graham was in the Citizen Military Forces for eight months in 1942 - V147597. He lowered his age at time of enlistment.[3]
He passed away in 1972, aged 77. [4]
