DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elsie by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elsie:

I have some DNA matches that tie to Elsie Earle as my 3rd great grandmother's mother to others who are tied to her with more solid records. Nothing noteworthy on her husband Edward Crowell. Will continue to check the descending males from them.

My great great great grandmother may have been the daughter Deborah Anna Crowell Chadbourne different birth date by a maximum of 5 years but both born in same month.

Still looking into all sources and records. Strange thing is her marriage record lists her father as a Daniel Crowell no concrete birth or death date evidence and no mother is listed. Beginning to wonder if Daniel was a brother or other relation who acted as her father or older guardian when she immigrated to USA and later married. I cannot determine who Daniel truly whom he is, though I had thought that perhaps Daniel was David her older brother, all hypothesis.

Some birth date differences so don't know if she wanted to be younger or older. Both Edward and Elsie's daughter and my 3rd great grandmother were born born in July ;one was birth about 1828 and the other 1826 some other records have 1822, but that was on a few other trees mistake on another online site.

Interesting enough my 3rd great grandmother's daughter, whom was my 2nd great grandmother was names Elsie Earle Chadbourne Kaliher. Matching Elsie Earle's name. Most of the other names Deborah children has are from her husbands side except the possible name of middle name of a son who was known as (Eddie) middle name is interchanges as Edward and Edgar on most documents.

3rd Great grandmothers name was Deborah and that tends to be in the Edward Crowell line. Not sure on Peter (Pieter) and Rachel (Ackerman) Earle, Elsie's parents, had as names. But there are DNA links to both Edward Crowells parents and Peter and Rachel Ackerman, Elsie's parents.

More work to be discovered before I can add my 3rd great grandmother Deborah Crowell Chadbourne can be added to any Crowell line.

Need more Crowell documents especially any correspondence from Deborah Anna Chadbourne and her Argyle Canada origins later immigrated to Minnesota in USA to her Crowell family in that region in Canada. Any help/confirmation would be appreciated. :)

Updated note July 25, 2022: I looked up all the censuses in the US and a few of them state that her parents are from England (as Canada was a subject too) and New York where her mother was from it does fit into Edward and Elsie (Earle) Crowell family tree. Her birthdate was only about 2 years off the 1826 date. I will be connecting Deborah A (Crowell) Chadbourne early next year. I think the father figure was a relation that stood in for her father by proxy who died a about 2 years later. Again just a guess. My DNA matches still showing decent cMs matching to Ackermans and Earle and Crowell lines.

Replying to my own comments about adding Deborah A. (Crowell) Chadbourne. Its looks more and more like she is a daughter of Edward and Elsie (Earle) Crowell but I remain at a high level of caution and not add her. Half the info is semi - circumstantial.

One source had her placed as marrying a man with the last name of Chatwyn or very similar and Deborah died in MN and there is no real Chatwyns in that area at the time but the Chadbourne/Chadburn type surnames, but there are other misspellings on censuses of the Chadbourne name so its as close as it can be if some one reading a correspondence from that time. Will let you know if I find more concrete information.

4-29-2002 Update: I have added her to the family of Edward and Elsie (Earl) Crowell on my Ancestry account due to DNA matches I have with many of her known family relatives. Will remain a touch skeptical about adding her here for to meantime but more confident as these are her parents. She was their youngest child.
