All of the Earps that you have listed from Benton Co, TN, are descended from Irvin Earp of Johnston/Wake Cos, NC. Irvin Earp is one of my great uncles. The Nowells are descended from Cullen Nowell, also one of my great uncles.

Irvin Earp's parents were Jonathan and Dorothy "Dolly" Wilder Earp. Jonathan and Dolly were married in 1797 in Johnston Co, NC. Irvin Earp's oldest sister (he was the only son) was Martha Earp. Martha Earp md. William Nowell; Wm is an older brother of Cullen Nowell.

The following information is about another John W. Earp, but not my ancestor. There were at least two in northwestern TN. "I do know the other John W. Earp married Mary Barnes Mar 4,1885." Margie.

"John W. Earp that married Mary Ann Barnes is the son of William Condary Earp and Martin Hester Nowell. William is the son of Irvin Earp and Alcey Pearce. Martin Hester Nowell is the daughter of Cullen Nowell and Cyntha Pierce, Margie and my great great grandparents. This John W. Earp was born April 1866 in Benton Co. He and Mary Ann are in Benton Co. on the 1900 Census. They move to AR and appear on the 1910 Census in Permiscot, AR and in Greene Co., AR, in 1920. I loose them in 1930. Margie's great grandmother Arrena Bell Nowell and Martin Hester Nowell were sisters."
