According to the Easterling Family History published by the Easterling Family Genealogical Society, Margaret's parents were George Stringfellow and Susan Easterling. Not much is known about what happened to George and Susan except they had a daughter, Margaret. Susan is the daughter of Henry Easterling and Margaret Laird which would make Margaret their granddaughter not daughter. It is assumed Margaret Laird Easterling adopted Margaret Stringfellow as she went by Easterling in the 1860 census.
