Dr Verne Eastman worked at a military hospital in Long Beach in 1945 where antibiotics were limited to soldiers and not for civilian use. But he stole some from the hospital to save the life of his grand-niece who was so suffering from tonsillitis that she couldn't get well enough for them to be taken out. With two doses, she recovered enough that Dr Verne could take out her tonsils and then gave her the rest of the doses for her to recover. He saved her life, but no one could talk about it because it was illegal. I thank him daily for my life.
