Biography

John Eastman, son of Joseph Eastman and Phebe, m. Anna Kimball; lived in New Hampshire; moved to Ohio; had eight children.[1] He married at Charleston, New Hampshire, Anna Kimball 30 Dec 1798. During the War of 1812, he served in Gen. Harrison's army and was lost after the Battle of Fallen Timbers. perhaps at the hands of the Indians.[2]

John and Anna had 8 children. There is no record at this time indicating Anna remarried.

Research Note

Many 'trees' have this Anna as the spouse of John Eastman (1756-abt.1814), however the dates do not work out. John Eastman married his wife Anna Kimball on 30 Dec 1798, in Charlestown NH. This Anna would have been 15 at the time. Per the Kimball Family in America, this Anna married " –– Calef", who turns out to be her brother-in-law James Calef, in 1804, when Anna would have been 21. Also, this Anna was mentioned as an unmarried daughter in her father's will, written on 26 December 1799. I give also to my daughter Anna, one hundred and ten dollars, to be paid by my executor in two years after my decease, or on her marriage day.

The Anna Kimball John Eastman probably married is the daughter of Pelatiah Kimball (1739-1823) and his wife Mary. See the Kimball Family in America, Page 132

I am disconnecting John Eastman as the spouse of this Anna.

Birth

Marriage to Anna Kimball, Dec 30, 1798 Charlestown, N. H.
