Sarah married Augustus L. Merrill ((Friday, March 10, 1848 - Thursday, October 28, 1920), presumably in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. They had five children: Harry Augustus Merrill (Tuesday, April 11, 1876 - Friday, April 22, 1938), Bessie W. Merrill Stewart (Monday, November 10, 1879 - Thursday, January 22, 1959), Dollie M. Merrill Livingston Clark (Thursday, August 21, 1884 - Friday, August 23, 1963), Sarah A. Merrill Campbell ((Tuesday, November 29, 1887 - Tuesday, May 28, 1918) and Margaret A. Merrill Boyer (Saturday, September 23, 1893 - Monday, December 5, 1955).
On Thursday, November 15, 1923, Sarah succumbed to a cerebral hemorrhage suffered on Tuesday, November 13, 1923, in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. She is interred with her husband, Augustus, at Highland Cemetery, Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. Her death certificate[3] states her parents were James Eastwood and Sarah Anne Hall, both from England, and that she was born 9 Sep 1848 Leeds-Oldham, all three being from England.The informant was Harry Merrill.

”Mrs Sarah J Merrill
Mrs. Sarah J. Merrill, widow of the late A. L. Merrill, who was stricken with apoplexy on Tuesday, passed away at her home at 207 E. Church street on Thursday noon. Deceased was 75 years old and is survived by two sons, James E. of Philadelphia, and Harry A. of this city, and three daughters, Mrs. A. M. Stewart, Oakmont, Pa., Mrs Dollie Livingston and Mrs. Charles Boyer, both of this city. she also leaves eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the St. Paul's Episcopal church by Rev. Lewis Nicholas, on Saturday afternoon and internment was made in Highland cemetery.”[4]
