Obituary from THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE[2] Bunnell, Florida Thursday, November 14, 1946

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the First Baptist Church for Mrs. Edith Braddock, Marie and Lonnie Braddock, mother and two children who were killed by a Florida East Coast freight train in a crossing accident last Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Braddock and the two children were in a light truck and were on their way to the Pellicer Creek cemetery with flowers for the graves of relatives when they were struck on the crossing just north of Pellicer Creek, near where .the Arbuthnot mill used to be, and the same crossing where several members of the Arbuthnot family were killed several years ago in a like manner.

The children died instantly as the bodies were badly mutilated but, it is understood, the mother was not quite dead when the train was stopped. The truck was carried approximately 2,000 feet after being struck by the heavily loaded freight.

The Braddock family lives a few miles east of where the accident occurred but in Flagler County. The accident was in St. Johns County.

Mrs. Braddock was 44 years of age, the daughter, Marie was 12 and the son, Lonnle, was 8. All were born and lived all of their life in Flagler County.

Surviving are the husband, J. L. Y.; three brothers, Willard Eatman of Flagler County; Worth and Truman Eatman of Moultrie.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. John M. Dickson, pastor of the First Baptist Church here. Burial was made at Pellicer Creek Cemetery, with Craig Funeral Home of St. Augustine in charge of arrangements.
