Biography

Marriage

Wearing a beautiful gown of brocaded white satin and carrying a bouquet of stephanotis and white freesia, Miss Emily Frances Eaton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Eaton of Belmont, became the bride yesterday (4 Mar 1944) of Lt. Charles J. Mundo Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Mundo of Pittsburgh, Penn. The bride wore her mother's veil of tulle caught to a wreath of orange blossoms for the 4 o'clock ceremony which took place in the Memorial Church at Harvard University. A small reception followed at the home of the bride's parents, Dr. William L. Sperry, dean of the Harvard Theological School, officiated at the ceremony.
The bride's attendant wore portrait gowns of blue marquisette and carried bouquets of tulips shading from yellow to flame. The maid of honor carried yellow tulips and freesie with her light blue marquisette gown. Miss Mary Prince Eaton was her sister's honor attendant and the bridesmaids included Miss Martha MacDonald of Milton; Miss Elizabeth Myer of Wilton, N. H.; Miss Mary Elizabeth Clark of Winchester, and Miss Anne Taylor of Concord (Mass.), cousin of the bride.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Prof. Albert Sauveur of Harvard University and Mrs. Sauveur of Cambridge, and the late Francis G. Eaton and Mrs. Eaton of St. Louis, Mo.
She graduated from the Winsor School in Boston last June and attended Bryn Mawr College during the current year. Lt. Mundo attended Shady Side Academy and graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology with the class of 1942. He is at present attached to the Signal Corps, USA.
Lt. Mundo had his father for his best man and ushers were W. J. Romeyn Taylor of Concord (Mass.), Calvert Magruder, Henry W. Newbegin and Dr. Dudley Merrill, all of Cambridge. [1]

Events

1990 - Participated taking continuing emergency medical services at an extension of the University of Maine via an interactive telecommunication system located at the Islesboro High School. This was part of a trial program with 22 other high schools. Officials hoped that within two years all high schools in Maine would be connected with this service. [4]

Obituary

CAMDEN - Emily Francis (Eaton) Mundo, 86, formerly of Islesboro and Sudbury, Mass., passed away April 28, 2012. She was the beloved wife for 65 years of Charles Joseph Mundo Jr.; mother of Francis E. Mundo of Rockport, Anne Gabriel of Great Falls, Va., and Sara MacLean of Northboro, Mass.; grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of five. Emily attended The Belmont School, Shady Hill School and Bryn Mawr College. She was a volunteer emergency medical technician, counselor at New Hope for Women, guardian ad litum, gardener, animal lover and quilter. Please make donations to NEADS, P.O.
