Biography

Ruth (Eaton) Ingalls immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Ruth Eaton was baptized February 12, 1636/7 in Hatton, Warwickshire, England, daughter of John Eaton and and Anne Unknown. [1] They were in New England by November, 1639, when her father John Eaton received a land grant at Colchester (Salisbury), Massachusetts on November 7, in the first division. [2]

Ruth married Samuel Ingalls at Ipswich, Massachusetts on December 9, 1656. Her husband Samuel was baptized at Skirbeck Co., Lincoln, England on April 22, 1632, son of Edmund Ingalls and Annis Telbe. [1] [3]

In her father John Eaton's will, dated August 6, 1660 and proved on April 13, 1669, he mentions among his heirs: [1] [4]

Ruth was living when her husband wrote his will in 1712. [5]

Samuel Ingalls died in 1716/7. [3]

The will of Samuel Ingalls was written in December, 1712, with a codicil written on April 23, 17?? and acknowledged by the court on January 22, 1718. In it he names: [5]
