Biography

John was born in 1836 in Brooksville, Maine to James Eaton and Sarah Blake.^[1]He was baptized in Brooksville in 1836.^[2]In 1850, he lived with his family on Deer Isle.^[3]

John married Hannah Harvey on Deer Isle in 1857.^[4]In 1860, they lived on Great Spruce Head Island.^[5]In 1870, they lived in Verona, Maine. John was a sailor.^[6]in 1880, John and his family lived on Great Spruce Head Island. John was a farmer and fisherman.^[7]

Hannah died between 1880 and 1889. John married Elmira Conary about 1889. In 1900, they lived in the town of Deer Isle with their son, Sherman. John was a fisherman.^[8] In 1910, they lived on their farm on Deer Isle with their son, Sherman.^[9]In 1920, John and Elmira lived on Deer Isle.^[10]

John died on Deer Isle in 1922. ^[11]He is buried there in the Eaton Cemetery.^[12]
